The Bike-Truck
Designed by Henry Cutler of WorkCycles and hand built in small numbers in Holland, this is the ultimate utility bike. We are thrilled to have them in-house. Henry has taken the classic transport bike and smartened it up to carry more and more easily, than most anything weve seen. The robust 26" wheels wrapped in massive Schwalbe Fat Frank tires roll like a train on rubber tracks while still maintaining reasonable efficiency, and the large-diameter stem and custom-drawn handlebar permit a more aggressive riding style than our more traditional bikes.
Chicago staff member Paul Fitz says of the versatile Fr8 Uni, "this is a bike even Chuck Norris would ride."
The Fr8 comes in two styles, the Cross which is effectively a 61 cm frame (for a leggy 32" inseam and up, up, up...) and the Uni, which is effectively a 49 cm frame and fits individuals from 5'4" or so up to 6'3" tall. Both have extra-long rear carriers which will hold two GMG911 child seats and both also allow the mounting of a third child seat on the frame in front of the rider. Both will also accomodate a Bobike Mini seat.
